Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

Day 01: Arrive in Sri Lanka and drive to Kandy
On your arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by our representative, who will then transfer you to Kandy (120 km/3 hours).About Kandy: Embark on a sightseeing tour of Kandy which is a UNESCO world heritage site. The historic city, about 480m above sea level, is surrounded by mountains. It was known to Sri Lankans as Kanda Uda Rata, which means the hill country. Kandy was home to Sri Lanka’s last independent Kingdom, which survived two centuries of colonial incursion before finally falling to the British at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Visit the Temple of the Tooth, the royal Botanical Gardens, the Peradeniya University campus, and catch a panoramic view of the picturesque town from Upper Lake Drive. Early in the evening, visit a Kandyan Dance performance and be treated to a spectacular fire walking finale. Kandy is also famous for its shopping, gems and jewellery, handicrafts, batiks, silks etc. You will get the opportunity to shop to your heart’s content.

Check-in to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. In the evening witness cultural show and enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Kandy

Post filling breakfasts at the hotel proceed for a morning city tour of Kandy. The tour will include visit to Upper Lake Drive, Market Square and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic-Sri Lanka’s most prized possession. The tour will also include visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens-Peradeniya, started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the Kings of Gampola and Kandy. Return and spend the evening at leisure in the hotel and stay overnight at Kandy.

Day 03: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
After having breakfast at the hotel, check-out and head for Nuwara Eliya (77km/2 hours).About Nuwara Eliya: Nuwara Eliya is invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country producing a significant share of the world’s best tea. Sri Lanka’s highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 feet) is located here. One of the finest 18 hole golf courses available in South Asia is also situated in Nuwara Eliya.

En-route visit tea plantation and waterfalls and in the evening kick-start your hour long city tour of Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya is the ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, which is set against beautiful backdrops of mountains, valleys, waterfalls and tea plantations. Return and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 04: Day at leisure
Post breakfast at the hotel, the day free for you to explore the city and enjoy on your own. Return and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 05: Depart from Nuwara Eliya

After a filling breakfast at the hotel, check-out and transfer to the airport to board your flight for back home.
